Description:
Supervises electronic shop personnel and performs maintenance on electronic equipment.
1. Supervises electronics technicians and oversees and executes the maintenance and calibration of undergraduate laboratory equipment.
2. Supervises and installs and repairs equipment on the computer network.
3. Sets up, maintains and repairs personal computers.
4. Conducts physical inventory of capital equipment, and maintains parts inventory and materials for use by faculty, staff and students; reorders and receives parts as needed.
5. Designs and constructs electronic equipment used in teaching and research laboratories.
6. Installs and maintains the wiring used to connect computers and related equipment to networks.
7. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MQ: Requires specialized training in basic trades, principles, procedures, practice, routines or techniques in a specific area or trade which might normally be acquired through up to 18 months of education or training beyond the high school level. Vocational competence in the operation of mechanical or electronic equipment may be required. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
