Description:

The Mechanical Engineering (MENG) Program at the University of Houston–Clear Lake (UHCL) invites applications for a visiting faculty position at the Lecturer or Assistant Professor level in Spring 2026. The rank will be determined based upon overall qualifications. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. 

Duties:

The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate MENG courses and provide service to the program, university and profession; including performing activities for ABET accreditation requirements. Successful candidates must be strongly committed to undergraduate teaching. All candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Requirements:

Minimum:

• The successful candidate must have an earned Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. The candidate should be interested in teaching the following courses:
  • ENGR 1201 Introduction to Engineering
  • ENGR 2301 Statics
  • ENGR 2304 Computing for Engineers
  • MENG 3334 Thermodynamics

Preferred:

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• an earned B.S. from an ABET accredited Mechanical Engineering or related program
• a demonstrated record of undergraduate teaching excellence.
