Job Summary

The Returning Student Coach oversees new students' recruitment and assists students with their academic goals. Guide students through the enrollment process from applicant to enrolled.

Duties

  • Facilitates outreach and onboarding of students for student reclamation programs
  • Maintains and monitors the caseload of students via proactive outreach
  • Conducts ongoing communication with students using various methods
  • Serves as liaison to student success resources and services
  • Collaborates with university administrators and departments to facilitate the development and maintenance of business processes and procedures
  • Tracks and assesses trends in student academic and non-academic needs

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of trends, issues, and accepted practices relevant to the position

Skills:

  • Good technical skills, including proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access, and PeopleSoft
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including good public speaking skills
  • Good project management skills

Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse university community

Work Location and Physical Demands

Primary Work Location:

  • Works in an office environment

Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed in a typical interior work environment, which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements
  • The individual has discretion in relation to walking, standing, etc., and has minimal exposure to physical risks

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication, Education, Marketing, or a related field

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of related job experience

License/Certification:

  • None required

Preferred Qualifications

  • None required
