Description:

The School of Art in the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts at the University of Houston is seeking applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track, Professor of Practice with expertise in Printmaking beginning in the Spring of 2026.

Professors of Practice teach a 4-4 course load. The person serving in this role will receive 2 course releases (1 in each long semester) in exchange for substantial service work, including serving as area coordinator for Printmaking, maintenance and operations of all printmaking equipment and spaces, and other responsibilities as assigned.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses as assigned, including but not limited to Silkscreen, Lithography, Intaglio, and Printmaking Studio.

Candidates should have extensive experience teaching undergraduate and graduate students. Candidates should provide evidence of research and scholarly activity, including the establishment of a national reputation, experience as a master printer, and recognition of the candidate’s printmaking skills.

MFA required.
