The Department of Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Houston invites applications for a Lecturer, to begin August 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching an inquiry-based Genetics Laboratory course and General Biology for non-science majors, in a highly collaborative setting. The position will also entail some shared administrative work. This is a 12-month, non-tenure track appointment with an opportunity for renewal. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline awarded by July 1, 2025.
Successful candidates will demonstrate broad training, skills in contemporary pedagogy, a strong interest in teaching undergraduates from a variety of backgrounds, and a willingness to contribute to the development of student success initiatives and undergraduate programs in the biological sciences. Experience with classroom teaching, laboratory instruction and course development, and familiarity with the use of Drosophila as a research organism are highly desirable.
