Each year hundreds of students and employers use the UHD Career Center’s services, and we could not function as effectively without the hard work and dedication of our student staff. In addition to making a difference in the lives of your fellow students, you will develop skills employers seek, including written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work as a member of a team, professionalism, and the confidence to take the initiative on the job. When you work at the Career Center, you are preparing yourself for future professional success!
Duties:
• Represents the values and mission of the Career Center and serves as a role model to students, alumni, and other student assistants
• Assist students and alumni with appointment scheduling and address their questions both in person and over the phone
• Guide students and alumni to CC career resources
• Monitor student sign-in process
• Provide support to CC staff members with preparing for and delivering workshops, programs, and events
• Create flyers and/or social media posts to be used in marketing workshops and events
• Supports UHD and Career Center policies and guidelines
• Maintains confidentiality
• Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Campus Groups
• Creativity and design experience in tools such as Canva
• Understand what it means to provide excellent customer service
• Good communication skills, both written and oral
• Attention to detail with the ability to solve problems independently
• Willingness to learn new things
• Must be dependable and professional
Qualifications:
• Must provide a course schedule for the upcoming semester and a current Fall 2024-Spring 2025 Financial Aid Award Letter if selected for an interview
• Must be a current UHD student with Financial Aid Federal Work-Study for the Fall 2024 - Spring 2025 Academic Year
• Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Must be available to work up to 20 hours a week, Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
