Job Summary
The Basic Needs Coordinator provides administrative, programmatic, and technical oversight in support of the Basic Needs Center which includes the Gator Market. The Basic Needs Coordinator manages the day-to-day operations of the market, ensures coverage, coordinates services, functions, and activities related to basic needs. The Coordinator provides specialized information related to basic needs to students, staff, faculty, and others; and coordinates with campus and community organizations to obtain resources for students to promote student success, retention, and completion.
Duties
- Responsible for coverage, orders and schedules food delivery, performs inventory of food (both perishable and non-perishable foods) on a weekly basis; ensure all food safety procedures are followed
- Supervises and manages volunteers by assisting with training and scheduling volunteers; ensure compliance with policies and procedures for the market
- Develops and coordinates educational programming and opportunities for students that promotes increasing healthy food choices and financial education and literacy
- Manages social media for the Basic Needs Center
- Collaborates with faculty and staff to address and respond to student concerns and needs
- Assists with conducting program evaluation(s) and student satisfaction surveys for the department's continuous improvement plans and reports
- Coordinates and assists with evaluating the basic needs services provided by the Basic Needs Center
- Connects students to campus services, programs, resources, and other institutional opportunities to aid in the retention and success of all students

- Serves on university and other committees as assigned

Work Location and Physical Demands
Primary Work Location:
- Works in an office environment
Physical Demands:
- Work is performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements
- The individual has discretion in relation to walking, standing etc., and has minimal exposure to physical risks
Qualifications
Required Education:
Required Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year of related job experience
License/Certification:
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with volunteers
- Experience with social media
- Experience working in higher education
