Description:
The University of Houston Andy and Barbara Gessner College of Nursing is seeking an outstanding candidate as Graduate Director with reporting responsibilities to the Dean. The 12-month promotion eligible non-tenure-track (PE-NTT) position is for a Family Nurse Practitioner with a DNP or PhD who has exceptional leadership, scholarship, excellence in teaching, and a clear commitment to enhancing the faculty, and graduate student populations. The anticipated start date for the qualified applicant begins as early as August 2024 and the search will continue until the position is filled.
Faculty responsibilities include: Ongoing curriculum development and evaluation to include MSN and the post masters, Doctor of Nursing Practice programs; classroom and clinical instruction using on-site, simulation, on-line, and distance education strategies; some travel; participation in college and university committees; engaging in scholarship, service and academic advising. The nursing program has been awarded the Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) award from INSIGHT into Diversity Magazine, six out of the last seven years.
