Description:
This part-time adjunct faculty physician position will have a leadership role in the building of the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine, at the University of Houston, core clinical experiences for our medical students. This clinical faculty will be responsible for the identification of inpatient and ambulatory clinical learning sites for student rotations and the recruitment of additional clinical preceptors. This clinical faculty will assist with the defining of required clinical experiences for the discipline specific clinical rotations. This position will assist with the fostering of relationships with clinical practices for future student rotations and potential research collaborations.
This position will report directly to the Chairman of the Clinical Sciences Department.
Specific duties include the following:
Primary Responsibilities
Educational Mission
- Identify clinical learning sites and preceptors for the longitudinal integrated clerkship, advanced clerkships, and clinical
electives.
- Collaborate with the course directors on defining required clinical experiences for student rotations.
- Correspond with the clinical sites and on-site medical staff throughout the student experience.
Salary commensurate with academic achievements and experience. Position will not exceed .30 FTE.

Qualifications
- Medical Licensure in the State of Texas
- Board certification in American Board of Medical Specialties such as Family Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics,
Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, and Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Experience documenting with an electronic medical record
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 3-5 years of experience in medical education
- Experience with inter-professional teams
- Experience contributing to quality improvement projects
- Bi-lingual in Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic or Chinese
