Description:

Supports UHD’s strategies and efforts to engage alumni and strengthen their relationship with the university by working closely with the Office of Alumni Relations within University Advancement. This individual will assist in engaging alumni through activities such as volunteerism, fundraising, networking, and stewardship.

Individuals interested in working with the Office of Alumni Relations will gain a unique perspective on cultivating relationships and partnerships, project management, increasing university pride, coordinating events, executing marketing campaigns, graphic design, and digital communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with day-to-day activities for the Office of Alumni Relations
  • Oversees social media accounts, including design and brand assets such as profile imagery; track and measure key metrics; manage page layout and links; and assist in developing social media plans
  • Generates engaging social media content unique to the Office of Alumni Relations, including original short text, photos, graphics, and videos to increase alumni engagement
  • Performs general office tasks, including but not limited to answering phones and emails, creating reports, scanning/copying documents, running campus errands (special duties), and scheduling meetings
  • Attends university events both on and off campus

  • Must have basic computer and social media knowledge
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications:

  • Must be a current UHD undergraduate or graduate student in good standing with the university
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 10 hours per week
  • Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently majoring in Business, Marketing, Communication, Non-Profit Management, Project Management, or Political Science
  • This position requires mobility, as it may occasionally involve commuting between different locations, such as UHD at 1801 Main and the UHD One Main Building
