Description:

Assist Library staff with daily tasks throughout the Library.

Duties:

• Assists Library staff with day-to-day tasks
• Helps patrons with computing (MS Office, Blackboard, etc.), printing, scanning
• Performs circulation duties: checks in and out study room cards, headphones, cables, etc.
• Enters study room reservation data Monitor study rooms.
• Clears printer jams and maintains paper levels; some lifting of up to 25 lbs. is required
• Logs in non-UHD patrons, alumni, and prospective students.
• Shelve returned materials
• Organizes materials already on shelves
• Pick-up materials left out on tables and check into our system for statistical purposes
• Light cleaning of 5th floor
• Light clerical work
• Assists with various library projects
• Assists with usability tests and user experience projects
• Edits documents to meet web accessibility standards
• Assists with maintaining the library’s content management system
• Assists with troubleshooting online library resources
• Assists with troubleshooting technology hardware

Requirements:

• Must be enrolled at UHD for the semester applying for six (6) college credit hours or more
• Must qualify for Texas Work Study via Financial Aid
• Must be reliable and show up for every scheduled shift
