Duties

This position may be on-campus or off-campus.

For On-Campus Positions

Students must meet the following qualifications and responsibilities:

• Provide administrative support and assist with daily office operations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of departmental events and special projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

For Off-Campus Positions

Students must meet the following qualifications:

• Must have reliable transportation to the job placement site.
• There are two types of positions that students may fill as participants in the program:
  • Community Engagement Interns will be placed with a local nonprofit organization in an area related to their academic major or specific interests.
  • Tutors generally work in educational settings (schools or nonprofit organizations) to help elementary school students improve their understanding of math, science, or reading.
• Job duties will be determined by the nonprofit or government organization.
• Students must represent UHD professionally and adhere to all confidentiality policies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
• Reliable, punctual, and organized.

Qualifications

• Must be a current UHD student.
• Must be enrolled in at least six credit hours.
• Must have been awarded a Federal College Work-Study award from the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.
