Department: Computer Sci & Engr Technology Salary: $12.00 per hour

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) is seeking a dedicated and organized Student Research Assistant to support the 2025 Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) summer program.


This role is ideal for a motivated individual with a background in computer science who has previously participated in the REU program and is eager to contribute to its continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists REU participants with the technical and logistical aspects of their research projects
  • Coordinates and organizes daily activities and events for REU students
  • Plans and facilitates educational and professional development field trips
  • Serves as a resource and mentor to current REU participants

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be a Computer Science major with strong programming skills

Qualifications:

  • Must be a current University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) student
  • Prior participation in the REU program at UHD is required
