Department: Environment Health & Safety Salary: $43,000 - $48,900

Description:

 Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure. This position requires personnel be routinely reviewed to determine whether or not criminal history or continuous connections for the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the employee from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure.

1. Assists with safety training for faculty, staff and students.

2. Assesses facilities, work areas and equipment to include but not limited to verifying campus fume hood functionalities and testing safety showers and eye washes on campus.

3. Coordinates and verifies biosafety cabinet certifications.

4. Populates departmental database and generates reports as needed.

5. May provide support services to handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials, as needed.

6. Performs respiratory fit-testing.

7. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or GED Required

Department is willing to accept education in lieu of experience.

MQ: Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through attainment of a high school diploma or GED. Education verification will be conducted upon acceptance of an employment offer. 

Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience.
