Description:
The Associate Director for the BBA and MS Accounting programs will play a pivotal role in supporting the operations and strategic initiatives for Bauer College of Business, particularly for undergraduate BBA students and MS Accounting students. This position involves overseeing and managing the Symplicity platform and related technologies, maintaining PeopleSoft feeds and reporting, and organizing large-scale professional development events like resume reviews and mock interviews. The Associate Director will also step into a leadership capacity in the absence of the Director, contributing to the ongoing success of the department and supporting a range of strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Symplicity and Technology Management:
• Oversee the daily operations of the Symplicity platform, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of data feeds from PeopleSoft and other systems.
• Manage user access, reporting, and troubleshooting within Symplicity, addressing any issues or system improvements that arise.
• Ensure proper data integration between Symplicity, PeopleSoft, and other relevant platforms to support student career development and advising.
Professional Development Events:
• Plan and execute large-scale professional development events for BBA and MS Accounting students, including resume reviews, mock interviews, and networking events.
• Coordinate logistics, communication, volunteers, and participation for events, ensuring successful engagement of students and employers.
• Develop and manage event materials, including handouts, promotional materials, and digital resources.
Leadership and Team Support:
• Serve as a key member of the leadership team in the absence of the Director, ensuring continuity of operations and smooth management of day-to-day activities.
• Collaborate with team members to support departmental goals, contributing to strategic planning, project management, and overall office performance.
• Provide leadership and guidance to staff and student workers within the team, offering mentorship and professional development opportunities.
Reporting and Data Management:
• Generate and analyze reports using Symplicity and other data tools to track student engagement, program effectiveness, and event participation.
• Prepare regular reports on student progress, career outcomes, and event success for stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and external partners.
Student Advising and Support:
• Assist in the advising process for BBA and MS Accounting students, offering guidance on career development, internships, job placements, and professional skill-building.
• Provide one-on-one or group support for students as they prepare for career-related milestones, such as interviews and job searches.
Other Duties as Assigned:
• Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed by the department or college.
• Stay current on industry trends, technology innovations, and best practices in student development, career services, and higher education.
Preferences:
• Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Higher Education, Counseling, or a related field).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a business career services setting providing career coaching (over 5 preferred).
• Experience with Symplicity or similar career services management platforms is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in event planning, student development, and leadership roles.
• Familiarity with PeopleSoft or similar student information systems is a plus.
• Experience coaching business undergraduate students.
Skills and Abilities:
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Proficient in data analysis, reporting, and technology tools.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong leadership capabilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to engage and motivate students, faculty, and employers in professional development activities.

MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience: Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience. Certification/Licensing: None.
