Description:

The Construction Management Program (CM) at the University of Houston (UH) invites applications for a nine-month, full-time, Professor of Practice position. This is a non-tenure-track appointment with an anticipated start date of January 15, 2027.

The selected candidate will teach four undergraduate courses per semester and participate in or lead curricular and programmatic initiatives, including internship programming, industry relations, and student competitions. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

Candidates must have earned a Master of Science degree in construction management or a related field, such as construction science, civil engineering, or architectural engineering. Candidates must also have a minimum of five years of relevant construction industry experience and demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills. Candidates with a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management, construction science, civil engineering, architectural engineering, or a closely related field, along with 10 to 15 years of extensive and relevant construction industry experience, may also be considered. Higher education teaching experience is preferred.

The CM program has approximately 900 undergraduate and graduate students and more than 200 industry partners serving on its industry advisory boards and participating in its approved internship employer program.
