Description:

Possesses, understands, and applies a comprehensive knowledge in area of specialization. Develops understanding and skills to allow for completion of assignments that cross fields of specialization. Develops leadership and management skills.
1. Receives/Reviews progress and evaluates results of experiments or projects under control or supervisory responsibility.
2. Recommends changes in research, testing or experimental procedures.
3. May be responsible for a single highly technical and complex piece of research equipment.
4. May review and evaluate the effectiveness of personnel.
5. May plan for and assign personnel to projects under control.
6. Operates with latitude for unreviewed action.
7. May receive general supervision conferring with higher levels only in unusual situations.
8. Performs other job-related duties as required.

MQ: Requires singular knowledge of a specialized advanced professional discipline or the highest level of general business knowledge, normally acquired through attainment of a directly job-related terminal degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Position Summary:
The Prescription Drug Misuse Education and Research (PREMIER) Center at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow in behavioral science, behavioral health, or behavioral research. During this 12-month position, the postdoctoral fellow will participate in data collection and analysis, conduct research and assessments with faculty and students in the College, prepare manuscripts, present at conferences, and participate in grant writing. Candidates nearing graduation are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate for this position is expected to have strong quantitative and/or qualitative research knowledge and skills and excellent communication capabilities, especially writing skills.


The PREMIER Center is a multi-disciplinary research center that has active funded projects that span multiple stages of the translational research continuum. This fellowship is housed in the PREMIER Center, but we have strong collaboration with various departments within the College of Pharmacy and the Department of Psychology in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. . Applicants with experience in clinical and/or translational research, as well as experience in behavioral science, behavioral health, or behavioral research are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience in research topics related to the mission of the PREMIER Center is preferred.

Required Qualifications: Applicants must have earned a Pharm.D. or a Ph.D. in clinical/translational sciences, health services research, epidemiology, public health, psychology (e.g. clinical, health, social, etc.), social work, health sciences, or other clinical/translational fields.
