Description:

Position Summary:
The Community Health Promotion Lab at the University of Houston is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to work on an NIH funded randomized controlled trial (R01HD114793-01) focused on promoting health and well-being among families with toddlers. This fellowship offers hands-on training in clinical trial research, intervention management, implementation, analysis, and dissemination. The fellow will also have opportunities to develop strong writing and analysis skills under the primary mentorship of Dr. Tracey Ledoux and Community Health Promotion faculty at the University of Houston and the Children’s Nutrition Research Center USDA/ARS and Baylor College of Medicine. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to gain expertise in health promotion research.

Duties:
- Oversee the management of a clinical trial, including staff coordination, participant recruitment, and data collection.
- In collaboration with the biostatistician and the data manager, analyze data and prepare results for publication in peer reviewed journals.
- Develop and submit a postdoctoral fellowship (F32) or career development award (K) to the NIH within the first 18
months.
- Ensure compliance with all university and governmental policies, regulations, and codes.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications include:
- Doctoral-level degree in public health, psychology, behavioral science, nutrition, physical activity promotion, or a related
field.
- Highly motivated individual with a strong track record of scientific productivity, including first-author publications in peer reviewed
journals.
- Proficiency in quantitative data analysis.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to conduct both independent research and collaborate effectively within
a team.
- Preferred experience in 1) accelerometry and 2) family-based interventions and process evaluation.



MQ: Requires singular knowledge of a specialized advanced professional discipline or the highest level of general business knowledge, normally acquired through attainment of a directly job-related terminal degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. No experience is required.
