Description:
Functions as a health care practitioner at a UH optometry clinic diagnosing, treating and/or managing visual and ocular problems and improving visual care. Trains in one of the specialized clinical fields: pediatrics, rehabilitative vision, family practice, contact lens or geriatrics.
1. Provides professional eyecare services to UH College of Optometry patients while training in specialized clinical field.
2. Monitors and supervises patient care provided by students.
3. Performs special clinical and research projects within field of specialization.
4. Is on call on a rotation basis for ocular emergencies outside of normal clinic business hours.
5. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MQ: Requires singular knowledge of a specialized advanced professional discipline or the highest level of general business knowledge, normally acquired through attainment of a directly job-related terminal degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. No experience is required. Requires professional licensing, certification or registration directly related to the job, as specified on a job description addendum.
