Description:

The Sports & Fitness Sports Attendant plays a role in supporting the structure, direction, services, and programs of the Wellness and Success Center. This position involves assisting with the coordination and facilitation of all Intramural and Club Sports activities, marketing efforts, data entry and compilation, and various office tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist full-time staff in coordinating and facilitating Intramural and Club Sports activities. This includes initiating and implementing promotional and marketing efforts, as well as setting up and breaking down equipment as needed.

  • Officiate Intramural sports, keep score for intramural and club games, and maintain statistics for these events
  • Create promotional materials such as flyers, schedules, standings, social media videos, and articles
  • Paint fields for intramural leagues
  • Provide information about Intramural and Club Sports programs through tabling events
  • Assist in training sports officials and complete necessary training for officiating
  • Perform office tasks, including data entry, answering phone calls, filing, running errands, and greeting visitors
  • Enforce and adhere to all Sports and Fitness policies and procedures
  • Help with special events as needed and attend staff meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Must have an interest in fitness, athletics, and sports
  • Should be friendly, dependable, helpful, and customer service oriented

Qualifications:

  • Must be a current UHD student in good standing with the university
  • Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and some early mornings
