Non-College Work-Study - CPS Advising Center Job Summary: Provides clerical, communication, and student support to the advising team in the College of Public Service. This role supports advisors by assisting with front-desk operations, appointment scheduling, student inquiries, and outreach campaigns.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Greet and assist students who visit or call the advising center
• Schedule, confirm, and manage advising appointments
• Answer general questions regarding academic programs, deadlines, and procedures
• Support advising-related outreach, including emails and phone calls
• Help maintain accurate and organized student records and files
• Assist in preparing materials for advising sessions and events
• Perform data entry, photocopying, scanning, and other clerical tasks as assigned
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA regulations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, scheduling tools)
• Excellent organizational and customer service skills
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
• Dependable and punctual
• Interest in higher education, counseling, or student support services is a plus
Qualifications:
• Must be a current UHD student
