Description:

Manages overall marketing and programmatic efforts for the Department of Student Housing & Residential Life and Housing, which includes presentations and publications for university functions and outreach, conference services, reservations and services for the university chapel and other auxiliary spaces.

1. Manages the daily operations of the department's marketing and outreach services, including supervision of staff.
2. Markets and promotes services to potential clients by phone, mail and visits.
3. Develops proposals and appropriate budgets for multiple sales contracts.
4. Develops and implements policies and procedures for best practices to ensure quality client services.
5. Designs promotional materials and presentations for sales operations.
6. Researches and analyzes trends in student housing, conference and wedding services.
7. Develops on-going assessment of multiple areas of services; formulates related goals and objectives.
8. Represents the department at professional conferences, trade shows, meetings, etc.
9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.

Job Overview:

The marketing manager supports the Department of Student Housing and Residential Life (SHRL) by coordinating digital marketing projects, campaigns and events. The position reports to the assistant director of marketing and communications and oversees the creation of digital materials, outreach strategies and event marketing for on-campus housing and conference services.
This role works in collaboration with the MarCom team, including a marketing project manager, photographer/videographer, graphic designer and student workers, to ensure projects are delivered on time and align with departmental goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the social media content calendar, coordinate the design and production of visual assets, and manage email communication to residents.
• Maintain and edit website content to ensure accuracy and alignment with departmental initiatives.
• Write and edit short-form advertising copy and video scripts for campaigns and storytelling projects.
• Coordinate and support events, including tabling and presentations, and deliver presentations on behalf of the department.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent branding and effective communication across all channels.
• Work occasional evenings and weekends to support special events as needed.
