Description:

The Graduate College of Social Work (GCSW) at the University of Houston is seeking a part-time Lecturer faculty member with a focus on AI consultation to support the integration of artificial intelligence tools in social work education. This role involves teaching 2 courses in fall and spring semester, overseeing the implementation of AI-driven resources, coordinating contracts and payment processes, and supporting staff and faculty in using AI technologies. The consultant will also evaluate the effectiveness of these tools and provide training for faculty and staff.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching
• Teach 2 MSW courses per semester (Fall/Spring)
AI Tools Implementation & Training
• Work with specific departments to assist with AI solutions and implementation and provide necessary training and support to the departments.
• Develop evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness of AI tools.
• Work with the Associate Dean to develop and implement a process for students to access a free licensing prep course, tracking participation and exam success rates.
• Explore and recommend additional AI tools that could be useful in social work education.
Liaison to AI tool providers
• Work with the GCSW business office, complete contract required for purchasing tools, ensuring payment is sent to the provider.
• Provide necessary follow-up with providers as questions with the tools arise.
Faculty Engagement & AI Integration
• Develop and deliver presentations for faculty on AI in social work education.
• Recruit and lead an ad-hoc faculty group to explore AI integration.
• Provide consultation and guidance to faculty on their questions and concerns regarding AI integration in their teaching or other professional tasks, and student use of AI.
• Assist faculty in developing AI policies appropriate for their course.

Degree Qualifications
MSW with 2 years post MSW experience

Employees are expected to have a home address in the state of Texas for the duration of their appointments.

Official transcripts are required for a faculty appointment and will be requested upon selection of the final candidates.
