The Marilyn Davies College of Business at the University of Houston-Downtown (MDCOB – UHD) seeks candidates for a Lecturer (masters level) position in the Department of Accounting & International Business. This is a full-time, 36 week, non-tenure line, limited-term, one-year appointment to begin September 2025 with excellent potential for re-appointment. UHD is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). MDCOB – UHD enrolls approximately 2,500 undergraduate and more than 1,100 graduate students and employs 18 full-time accounting faculty members. The home campus for this position is the Downtown Houston campus, but it may comprise teaching assignments on UHD’s Northeast and Northwest campuses.

Position Description:
Lecturers in this position will teach courses each semester using traditional, hybrid, and online delivery methods. Teaching assignments will include introductory courses in accounting and potentially upper-level undergraduate and graduate accounting courses. Teaching assignments may require teaching courses scheduled during the daytime, evening, and weekend hours in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats. Lecturers in this position will engage in activities to stay current in the discipline; participate in course, curriculum, and program development; advise students and provide career guidance; and participate in campus, university, and community service activities.
Candidate must demonstrate evidence of, or potential for, high-quality teaching. The position is a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track appointment beginning September 1, 2025, which requires teaching undergraduate and graduate accounting courses.
