Department: Facilities Operation and Maint Salary: Commensurate with Experience/Education

Description:

Inspects, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance to various heating and air conditioning systems. Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure. This position requires personnel be routinely reviewed to determine whether or not criminal history or continuous connections for the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the employee from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure.

1. Inspects, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance to HVAC systems including sewage pumps, heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.

2. Performs preventative maintenance as assigned.

3. May install new systems or replace old systems.

4. May provide technical direction to assistants.

5. May be required to work special assignments during emergencies.

6. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or GED Required

THIS JOB REQUIRES A VALID TEXAS DRIVER'S LICENSE.

MQ: Education: Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through attainment of a high school diploma or GED. Education verification will be conducted upon acceptance of an employment offer. 

Experience: Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience.

Certification/Licensing: Requires technical certification or licensing directly related to the job, as specified on a job description addendum. Apprentice: EPA Universal Certification Journey: EPA Section 608 Technician Certification.
