The Honors College at the University of Houston invites applications for a non-tenure track position of Instructional Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2025. We seek an exceptional educator and scholar who is passionate about creating transformative educational experiences that inspire and engage students, who thrives in an interdisciplinary environment, and who is committed to shaping engaged citizens and lifelong learners.

We are seeking candidates that bring multiple stakeholder perspectives to one or more of the following fields: environmental and/or health studies, science and technology studies, data analytics, energy transitions. Community-based pedagogies or relevant industry/research experience are welcomed.

A PhD or terminal degree is required; disciplinary background is open. Applicants should demonstrate how they will contribute to the teaching, research, and program development of one or more of the following minors:

The responsibilities of the position include 70% teaching, 20% service, and 10% research. The candidate will design and teach small, discussion-based or project-based Honors seminars. Teaching responsibilities include foundational courses in the relevant minor(s) as well as upper-level seminars designed by the candidate, which should embody the Honors College’s commitment to intellectual exploration across disciplinary boundaries.
