Description:

The Construction Management Program in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Houston invites applications for a non-tenure- track (NTT) faculty in the rank of Instructional Assistant Professor to begin September 2026. Successful applicants will join the Construction Management Program at the University of Houston at the central campus. All administration, advising, and instruction for the construction management program will occur at the central campus.

The position involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in construction methods, project management, estimating, scheduling, safety, contracts, and sustainable construction, while integrating emerging technologies such as BIM, Procore, and AI applications. In addition to teaching, the faculty member contributes to curriculum development, accreditation, and student mentoring. The role also includes service, industry outreach, and professional engagement to strengthen the program’s visibility and relevance. Overall, the position plays a vital role in preparing graduates with the technical expertise, leadership skills, and sustainability mindset needed to excel in today’s construction industry.

This is a full-time, benefits eligible, non-tenure-track position, as an Instructional Assistant Professor. Appointments are made on an annual 9-month basis, salary commensurate with experience.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment with stakeholders. A strong commitment to excellence in construction management education and outstanding communication skills are essential. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Construction Management or a closely related field.
