Description:

The Office of Study Abroad seeks a dependable, customer-focused Federal Work-Study Student Assistant to support daily office operations and assist with promoting international education opportunities at UHD. This position provides hands-on experience in customer service, event planning, marketing, and office administration.

Work Schedule:

  • Must be available to work up to 20 hours per week during regular university business hours
  • Morning availability (8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.) is strongly preferred. Final work schedule will be determined based on office needs and the student's class schedule

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Welcome students and visitors and respond to general office inquiries
  • Assist students with navigating the Study Abroad application portal and locating required forms and resources
  • Refer students to professional staff for advising regarding programs, visas, financial aid, and academic planning
  • Answer phones, monitor emails, and provide general office support
  • Maintain electronic and paper records, including data entry and filing
  • Assist with social media, marketing materials, and website updates
  • Support Study Abroad Fairs, First Step Information Sessions, orientations, and other events
  • Prepare student packets, promotional materials, and office communications
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current UHD student
  • Eligible for Federal Work-Study funding
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Good academic, financial, and disciplinary standing
