Description:

The Accessible Education Center provides accommodations, academic adjustments, and/or auxiliary aids and services to UHD students who have temporary or permanent health impairments, physical limitations, psychological disorders, or learning disabilities. The Accessible Education Center staff members serve as liaisons between students and faculty, administrators, and community agencies.

The Accessible Education Center is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable student worker to assist with administrative tasks and provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff. The student worker will support the office’s mission of ensuring equal access to education for students with disabilities by assisting with daily operations, record-keeping, and outreach efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Greet visitors, answer phone calls, and respond to general inquiries in a professional and friendly manner
• Assist with scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars
• Help process and organize confidential student documentation in accordance with university policies
• Maintain accurate records and assist with data entry
• Support staff with event planning and outreach initiatives related to disability awareness
• Assist in the preparation of accessible materials for students as needed
• Monitor office supplies and assist with inventory management
• Perform other administrative tasks as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and willingness to learn new software
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus but not required
Qualifications:
• Must be a currently enrolled student and eligible for federal work-study
Work Schedule:
• Flexible schedule based on class availability (up to 19.5 hours per week)
• Must be able to work during office hours, Monday – Friday
