      Description:

      The University of Houston Andy and Barbara Gessner College of Nursing at Sugar Land is seeking an outstanding candidate with the potential for exceptional clinical practice, scholarship, and excellence in teaching. Medical surgical clinical and teaching experience are a plus. The anticipated start date for a qualified applicant for a 9 month promotion eligible non-Tenure-Track faculty position with a starting date as early as Fall 2023, the search will continue until the position is filled.

      Faculty responsibilities include: ongoing curriculum development and evaluation; classroom and clinical instruction in the undergraduate and graduate programs using on-site, simulation, on-line, and distance education strategies; some travel; participation in college and university committees; engaging in scholarship, service and academic advising.       The Gessner College of Nursing is proud of its excellent BSN, MSN and DNP programs; innovative web-enhanced education; simulation laboratory; and supportive student environment for both face-to-face and distance learning. A candidate's ability to teach a variety of upper level undergraduate and graduate specialty areas is a plus.

      A minimum of three letters of recommendation are required. Please provide contact information for three professional references who will be contacted by the search committee during the selection process.

      Qualifications:

      1. Doctorate in nursing or related field required.
      2. Master's degree in nursing from a professionally accredited school of nursing if the doctorate is not in nursing.
      3. National certification in clinical specialty area required.
      4. Candidate must possess unencumbered license as a registered nurse in Texas.
      5. Minimum 2 years of clinical experience required. Medical Surgical is a plus.
      6. Excellent clinical and communication skills.
      7. Minimum 2 years teaching experience required. Medical Surgical is a plus.
      8. Published in peer reviewed articles.
