    Description:

    The Department of Computer Science and Engineering Technology at the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Clinical Assistant Professor position to begin in August 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in the Cybersecurity and Computer Science programs, with the possibility of teaching graduate-level courses to support the Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence (MSAI) and the Master of Science in Data Analytics (MSDA) programs.

    Position Details:

    This is a non-tenure-track, full-time faculty position. The Clinical Assistant Professor will be expected to teach a load of four courses per long semester. The role also involves service responsibilities as assigned by the department chair. Candidates must demonstrate a passion for teaching and a commitment to academic excellence.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence by preparing and delivering undergraduate and graduate-level courses
    • Actively contribute to course assessments and provide relevant data as required
    • Engage in university, professional, and community service activities as assigned by the department chair

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field

    Preferred:

    • Proven experience in university-level teaching
    • Relevant industry experience
