Description:
The University of Houston Andy and Barbara Gessner College of Nursing at Central Campus is seeking an outstanding candidate to teach in the new post masters, Doctor of Nursing Practice program. This 9-month, promotion eligible, non-tenure-track (PE-NTT) position is for a Family Nurse Practitioner with a DNP or PhD who has exceptional leadership, scholarship and excellence in teaching. The anticipated start date for the qualified applicant begins as early as August 2023 and the search will continue until the position is filled.
Faculty responsibilities include: ongoing curriculum development and evaluation; classroom and clinical instruction in the undergraduate and graduate programs using on-site, simulation, on-line, and distance education strategies; some travel; participation in college and university committees; engaging in scholarship, service and academic advising. The Gessner College of Nursing is proud of its excellent BSN, MSN, and DNP programs; innovative web-enhanced education; simulation laboratories; and supportive student environment for both face-to-face and distance learning. While the primary teaching site is the University of Houston, the Gessner College of Nursing has programming at the University of Houston at Sugar Land and the University of Houston at Katy locations. The ability to teach a variety of graduate and undergraduate specialty areas is a plus. Faculty work collaboratively and support each other in a pleasant environment.

Qualifications
1. Doctorate in nursing or related field required.
2. Master's degree in nursing from a professionally accredited school of nursing if the doctorate is not in nursing.
3. National certification in clinical specialty area required.
4. Candidate must possess an unencumbered license as a registered nurse in Texas.
5. Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner required.
6. Excellent clinical and communication skills.
7. Minimum of 2 years teaching experience required.
8. Published in peer-reviewed articles.
