The University of Houston College of Pharmacy invites qualified applicants to interview for a full-time, clinical-track faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Translational Research.

The Department of Pharmacy Practice and Translational Research is made up of 33 full-time faculty members. The vision of the department is to be a leader in pharmacy and postgraduate education through excellence in translational, clinical, and outcomes research. The department has taken a lead to develop a new curriculum for our professional pharmacy program. This will be a key position to help execute our new world-class curriculum.

We welcome candidates whose experience in teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to excellence. We are specifically looking for candidates with experience and/or a passion to teach pharmacy-related skills in small and large group formats. The chosen applicant will also be part of a nucleus of faculty devoted to integrated education and active learning. Candidates will be expected to develop a nationally recognized reputation in their chosen area of expertise through teaching, service, and scholarship.

Responsibilities

We are seeking outstanding individuals with a desire to train our students and advance our profession. The successful candidate will be involved in the transformation of our PharmD curriculum with increased emphasis on integrated and active learning in the area of clinical pharmacy skills and interprofessional / experiential education. The primary responsibilities include coordinating and facilitating skills labs-based curriculum in large or small-group formats. Scholarship in the applicant's chosen area is an expectation to build with a core group of faculty interested in the scholarship of teaching and learning (SOTL).

The position is fully funded by the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. Applicant screening will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.

Qualifications

The candidates should possess a PharmD degree and have completed post-doctoral residency and/or fellowship training or have equivalent experience.

Appointment at the Clinical Associate Professor level will require prior academic experience in a related area. Applicants will be expected to develop a nationally recognized reputation in their chosen area of expertise through teaching, service, and scholarship. Candidates for consideration may have a primary background in community, hospital, ambulatory care, academia, compounding, or another practice area.

Applicants must be eligible for Texas licensure.

Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
