Description:

The Center for Student Empowerment seeks professionals dedicated to student affairs work, including individualized student support, case management, resource referral, and student-focused programming. Develops and manages innovative services designed to assist students with medical, psychological, psychiatric, social, financial and academic needs.

1. Serves as the liaison to the Counseling Center, Student Health Center and various University departments and individuals to consult and advise on student mental health-related matters.
2. Performs evaluations to determine the student's needs, formulates goals and designs plans to resolve problems.
3. Determines the type of intervention needed, utilizing campus and community resources. 4. Partners with the Student Health Center and Counseling Center to aid in problem resolution and makes referrals as needed; involves parents/guardians as appropriate.
5. Maintains a directory of health-related community resources available to students including resources for students with financial and/or transportation needs.
6. Develops and administers training workshops on crisis management.
7. Maintains case records and prepares statistical reports as needed.
8. Serves on committees as a representative of the unit as needed.
9. Performs other job-related duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with a background in social work, counseling, or a related helping profession (LMSW, LCSW, LPC, or similar) are strongly encouraged to apply.

Education will be considered in lieu of experience.

MQ: Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a directly job-related Master's degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience. Requires technical certification or licensing directly related to the job, as specified on a job description addendum.
