The Associate Vice President for the Division of Advancement & Alumni Development provides management, direction and leadership for a comprehensive development program for the University of Houston and coordination of development activities for the University of Houston's colleges, schools, and constituent programs.
1. Provides leadership for and manages a committed and energetic staff of development professionals in creating and implementing strategies to enhance financial support for the University of Houston's colleges, schools, and constituent programs.
2. Develops annual and long-range strategic plans for development; prepares and presents reports, briefings, executive summaries, and other materials as required; works with deans and college-based development directors, coordinates the fund-raising activities of university advisory boards.
3. Designs and facilitates the cultivation and solicitation of major donor prospects and oversees the major gift strategy sessions for the Division of Advancement & Alumni Development in support of the Chancellor/President and the Vice Chancellor/Vic President for Advancement & Alumni.
4. Collaborates with Associate Vice President for Advancement on the annual fund, donor relations, advancement events, donor research and database management, corporations, foundations, and planned giving.
5. Works closely with the Assistant Vice President for the division of Advancement and Alumni on principal gifts.
6. Performs other job-related duties as required
MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
Experience: Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience.
