Job Description
The Department of Management (MGT) of the MDCOB at UHD invites applicants for one Assistant level tenure-track position in Security Management to begin in August 2026 with a possible start date of January 2026. Preference will be given to those with research and teaching interests related to risk management.
The selected candidate may have teaching responsibilities related to enterprise security, cybersecurity, risk analysis, Homeland Security, Cybercrimes, Emergency Management, and Intelligence Operations. In addition, the selected candidate will be expected to engage with other stakeholders in curriculum development in related programs.
Given the needs of MDCOB students, successful candidates must be willing to teach a variety of days, times, and modalities (i.e., face-to-face, online, hybrid, and hyflex formats). They must also be ready to teach both undergraduate and graduate students. Faculty are expected to teach courses offered at the primary campus in downtown Houston, as well as off-campus locations in suburban, northwest Houston.
The MDCOB is accredited by AACSB and enrolls 2,500+ undergraduate and more than 700 graduate students. The Department houses over 20 faculty members, 15 of whom are tenured/tenure-track. Currently, our department offers BBA majors in Management and Human Resource Management, a BAAS in Applied Administration, the MSM degree, and MBA concentrations in Human Resource Management and Leadership.

Applicants selected to progress to the second stage of the process will be requested to submit 1) evidence of teaching effectiveness, 2) a research statement, 3) samples of scholarship, 4) unofficial transcripts, and 5) a list of references.
