Description:

The Department of Physics at the University of Houston seeks to fill a tenure-track Assistant professorship with an experimentalist specializing in nuclear physics. Exceptional candidates with a strong background in high energy nuclear physics are encouraged to apply. The local group is actively involved in ALICE at LHC, STAR at RHIC, and ePIC at the future EIC. The primary motivation for this position is to further strengthen the existing efforts towards the experimental program at the EIC. Candidates must have a strong record of scholarship and be able to establish and sustain a robust, externally funded research program. Preference will be given to those with postdoctoral experience. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to and potential for excellence in teaching a wide range of physics courses at both graduate and undergraduate levels, as well as in mentoring students in research. Effective communication skills are required.

PhD in physics or related field
