Description:

The University of Houston Law Center (UHLC) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant and Associate Professor position to begin in the academic year 2026-2027 with a primary doctrinal emphasis in tort law.

Applicants for the position must hold a J.D. degree (or the equivalent) and should demonstrate the potential for success as a scholar, teacher, and future member of the UH and the Law Center’s broader community.

The primary teaching focus for the position is to cover the 1L doctrinal course for tort law. Upper-level course teaching options are flexible. Willingness to teach elsewhere in the Law Center curriculum, including other 1L courses, courses covered on the bar exam, or other upper-level topics, is also a positive factor.

Qualifications
An attorney appointed to the position must, at a minimum, hold a J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
