Description:

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at the University of Houston invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Supply Chain, Logistics, and Technology (SCLT). We seek candidates with a strong methodological foundation in areas such as Optimization, Operations Research, Statistics, and Machine Learning, with impactful applications in fields including Supply Chain and Logistics, Transportation, Energy, Health, Sustainability, or Security.

The ISE Department has 24 full-time faculty members and approximately 900 students enrolled in bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree programs. The department is experiencing rapid growth in both research activity and student enrollment. Faculty have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across the university and in the Houston community in areas including supply chain, logistics, transportation, energy, power systems, resilience, smart cities, sustainability, and manufacturing.

Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a closely related field. Successful candidates are expected to establish a nationally recognized, externally funded research program and contribute to the department’s teaching mission. At the junior level, candidates should demonstrate strong potential for scholarship, teaching, service, and securing competitive research funding.

Salary and rank commensurate with experience.
