Description:
The University of Houston Andy and Barbara Gessner College of Nursing at the Sugar Land Campus and Katy Campus is seeking outstanding candidates for two 9-month, Tenure-Track (TT) faculty positions. The applicants must have exceptional leadership, scholarship and excellence in teaching. The research-intensive position begins as early as August 2024 and will continue until the positions are filled. A community health background is preferred.

Faculty responsibilities include: research, ongoing curriculum development and evaluation; classroom and clinical instruction in the undergraduate and graduate programs using on-site, simulation, on-line, and distance education strategies; some travel; participation in college and university committees; engaging in scholarship, service and academic advising. Faculty work collaboratively and support each other in a pleasant environment.
The Gessner College of Nursing is proud of its excellent BSN, MSN and DNP programs; innovative web-enhanced education; SSH accredited simulation centers; and supportive student environment for both face-to-face and distance learning. The nursing program received the only national award for Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) award from INSIGHT into Diversity Magazine, seven out of the last eight years.

Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications.

Qualifications
1. Doctorate in nursing or related field required.
2. Master's degree in nursing from a professionally accredited school of nursing if the doctorate is not in nursing.
3. Candidate must possess unencumbered license as a registered nurse in Texas.
4. Minimum 2 years of clinical experience is required.
5. Excellent clinical and communication skills.
6. Minimum 2 years of teaching experience required.
7. Established research focus and peer reviewed publications.
