The University of Houston-Downtown Urban Education Department is seeking applications for adjunct teaching positions. Responsibilities include teaching courses in the applicant's field of expertise in an undergraduate teacher certification program and/or a Master of Arts in Teaching program. Candidates must have demonstrated ability and/or interest in teaching in a multi­ ethnic, multicultural environment.

Qualifications

  • For undergraduate courses, an earned Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in a field related to the designated teaching assignment
  • For Master's degree courses, an earned doctorate with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in a field related to the designated teaching assignment

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least three years of public school teaching experience 
All positions at the University of Houston-System are security sensitive and will require a criminal history check.
