Description:

The University of Houston Andy and Barbara Gessner College of Nursing with locations at UH at Sugar Land, UH at Katy and UH Central campus seek outstanding candidates for part-time Adjunct Faculty positions. Adjunct responsibilities include: undergraduate or graduate classroom and/or clinical instruction using on-site, simulation, and on-line education strategies; some travel; evaluation of student performance, communication with program directors, track managers and clinical learning coordinator.

The College of Nursing is proud of its excellent Second Degree BSN, Traditional BSN, RN-BSN, MSN and DNP academic programs, innovative web enhanced education, accredited simulation centers, and a supportive student environment for both face-to-face and distance learning. Ability to teach a variety of upper level undergraduate specialty areas is a plus. Summer teaching is normally available.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: 1. Master’s degree in nursing from a professionally accredited school of nursing. 2. Candidate must possess an unencumbered license as a registered nurse in Texas and an advanced practice nurse license, if applicable, in Texas. 3. Minimum 2 years nursing experience. 4. Excellent clinical and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: 1. Doctorate or substantial progress toward doctorate in nursing or related field. 2. Teaching experience in nursing.
