Description:

The Department of Biology and Biochemistry in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Houston invites applications for a part-time Adjunct Faculty position to teach one undergraduate section (lecture-based course) in General Biology/Neuroscience in accordance with the departments curriculum guidelines and policies during the 2026 Spring semester.

Responsibilities will include teaching one section of a three-credit hour undergraduate Neuroscience (lecture-based) course in accordance with the department’s curriculum guidelines and policies. Develop and organize the course syllabus, lecture materials, assignments, and grading criteria. Hold regular office hours (in-person or virtual) to support student learning and address course-related questions. Utilize the university's learning management system (Canvas) to post course materials, assignments, and grades in a timely manner. Assess student performance in a fair and timely manner.

Qualifications
Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Biology, or a closely related field is required.
Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level is preferred.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and student success.

Appointment Details
This is a part-time, in-person instruction, semester-long appointment.
Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
