Department: Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Salary: Commensurate with experience

Description:

The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the Cullen College of Engineering at the University of Houston invites applications for part-time, non-tenure track, Adjunct Faculty positions to teach one or more undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.

Instruction is primarily in-person/virtual on the University’s main campus in Houston, Texas, and may include daytime or evening courses, depending on program needs.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide high-quality instruction, develop and manage course materials, assess student performance, and contribute to the department’s mission of academic excellence and innovation in engineering education.

Responsibilities
-Teach assigned undergraduate or graduate courses in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.
-Prepare and deliver course materials, including lectures, assignments, and exams.
-Assess and grade student performance in alignment with departmental and university standards.
-Maintain regular office hours to assist and mentor students.
-Collaborate with course coordinators and department faculty to ensure instructional consistency and program quality.

Qualifications
-A PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Biomolecular Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
-Demonstrated ability or potential for effective teaching at the college or university level.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-Experience of working in the chemical process industries.

Additional Information
This is a part-time, non-tenure track position. Teaching assignments and compensation are determined based on departmental needs and qualifications.

The position may be renewed on a semester-by-semester basis, contingent upon performance, enrollment, and funding.
