Description:

Directs and coordinates the academic advising activities of a college or major educational office.

1. Directs, implements and evaluates advising activities for a college or major office.
2. Interprets and communicates academic policies and procedures to faculty, students and staff.
3. Coordinates and supervises the mailing of all letters of recommendation to professional schools and maintains statistics on the number of students entering professional school.
4. Conducts career counseling workshops and provides advise on field of study.
5. Participates in class schedule development and registration tasks, including problem enrollments, drop/adds, and so forth.
6. Supervises the compilation and analyses of data and the preparation of related management reports.
7. Acts as liaison with university administration and faculty on academic matters.
8. Performs other job-related duties as required.

Additional Position Information
Description:
This position works in the Office of Undergraduate Business Programs at the C. T. Bauer College of Business and will be responsible for advising undergraduate business students prior to declaring a specific business major. The position also leads data-informed planning and execution of academic advising initiatives that support student degree progress and major declaration, including outreach efforts, educational programming, and resource development.

Successful candidates will have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, work well under pressure, consistently meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects while remaining flexible and positive. This will require exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferences:
• Experience in Higher Education
• Direct Experience in Academic Advising

Qualifications:
• Education will be considered in lieu of experience.
• Experience will be considered in lieu of education.

MQ: Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a directly job-related Master's degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience.
